  1. Where did you grow up? I grew up in the small city of Surat, Gujarat in India. I’ve lived there for almost 18 years. I moved to Austin, United States, for my undergraduate studies in 2017. All my family is back in India, whom I try to visit every year!
  2. What was your favorite extracurricular activity in high school? I’ve always enjoyed music and playing the guitar/piano. I’m still learning, still a beginner.
  3. Why did you come to UT? UT is one of the best schools for Computer Science. And secondly, the weather of Texas is quite similar to that of India — i.e. no snow! I’m not a very cold weather person which made me want to come to UT even more.
  4. Why are you in this class? I’ve taken SWE from Dr. Downing last spring, and I like the way he teaches. I’m also in another class, autonomous driving, which uses C++ in which I have 0 experience. This class is also in C++ which will give me enough hands-on experience to add one more language to my resume.
  5. How did you like the first couple of lectures? So far, so good.
  6. What made you happy this week? — No major homework/project so far!
  7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week? — I got to see all my friends again after the winter break.
