What did you do this past week?

I finished and submitted my project for this class this past week. I also got to play around with the rc controlled cars provided to us for the autonomous driving class which was very exciting for me and my group.

What’s in your way?

I have a couple of assignments due for autonomous driving and AI starting this upcoming Monday. I haven’t been doing much in AI yet which is a bit stressful now that the deadline is quite close.

What will you do next week?

Most of my next week is going to be finishing up assignments for my other classes. I will also be starting my part-time position with the department of mathematics next week. If the next project for this class is out mid-week, I will try to get myself familiar with the project.

If you read it, what did you think of the Continuous Integration?

CI/CD is very useful.

What was your experience of Collatz?

The problem was fairly simple. All the optimizations needed were discussed in class which leaves us with just the implementation details like choosing the data structures or how to use the combination of two caches and so on. I personally felt like it was a good project coding wise to get familiarized with the python language since it’s been a while I used python. The submission details were reasonable as those are the software/skills that every programmer should have.

What was your experience of exceptions?

I have used exceptions for many programing assignments for data structures class along with SWE class I took here at UT. These are very useful to not halt your program, but rather to handle different edge cases and move on wit the rest of the program.

What made you happy this week?

It was my roommate’s birthday this past Thursday. I had a lot of fun celebrating it with him and our friends. We played many board games and watched a movie towards the end of the day.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

Tip of the week — if you are recruiting for summer internship in the spring semester, just apply online to companies as most of the companies in the career fair are there to hire for full time positions.
